Plant proteins are proteins (i.e., complex chains of amino acids) obtained from the transformation of plants (e.g.: soybean, rapeseed, wheat, peas, alfalfa). They constitute one of the subgroups of the large family of “alternative proteins”, which includes all the protein sources considered as substitutes for animal proteins: plant proteins, of course, as well as those derived from insects, algae, yeasts, or other microorganisms.
Among the sources of plant proteins, soy is the most commonly used globally and has been the most extensively researched by scientists.
Medical nutrition is an optimized dietary approach that is integrated into health protocols to meet specific nutritional needs and improve the chances of patient recovery. It acts as a complementary therapy approach alongside medication and can equally have a preventative effect.
Also known as clinical nutrition, it is intended for individuals with specific pathologies, including chronic diseases, acute illnesses, or nutritional disorders (malnutrition, cancer, coronary diseases, malabsorption, swallowing disorders, chronic digestive diseases, metabolic disorders, premature infants, etc.).
The term microbiome is often used synonymously with microbiota. However, for purists, the microbiome refers to all the genes of these microorganisms. This term was introduced in 2001 by Joshua Lederberg, American geneticist and microbiologist, and winner of the Nobel Prize in medicine in 1958. The human body would, therefore, be considered as an organism with a double genome, human and microbial.
We speak of clean label to designate the movement toward shorter ingredient lists and more natural ingredients in industrial products. The clean label highlights the authenticity of the products.
Solid beauty solutions contain a reduced or even zero rate of water in their formulation (we speak of waterless cosmetics). They are by nature more concentrated in active ingredients, end users will tend to use less product than a water-based equivalent for the same action.
